“My brain doesn’t work like other people’s’.”
“Sometimes I wish I was more normal. But if I was, I think I would miss my weird self.”
“The people around me see the world so differently that I think I must be crazy, but I’m pretty sure I’m not.”
“I wish people could understand what it’s like to be me. I don’t need them to DO anything, just have some understanding.”
All of these statements reflect some of what it is like to be neuro-divergent….
I work with children, adults and families to help them navigate complex social situations, gain better insight into their own behavior and to improve their communication and relationships through reflective questioning and direct feedback. So many times what I see is dysfunctional patterns of behavior that are the result of an attempt at self protection but that ultimately wind up creating the outcomes that people are afraid of.
My goal is to help people move beyond this into new patterns of interaction that lead to more positive outcomes.
“What I liked the most about the working with Mr. Cone was the openness and the humor. Because of this I felt very comfortable discussing sensitive issues.”
“Between Stimulus and Response, there is Space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our power and our freedom.”
